Swimming pool cleaning

This is a just one example of a swimming pool that we drained down and cleaned up in South East London. It is a fibreglass swimming pool but we carry out exactly the same with a concrete pool or tiled pool.
Liners depend on area and soil conditions.

Project 1

First of all we jet clean all of the surrounding patio area up to 1 meter from the swimming pool’s edge or copings.
We then drained the swimming pool down and start to jet clean the sides.
As the levels of the water in the swimming pool got lower we started to wash the sides with a mild acid and swimming pool cleaner. This swimming pool cleaner is designed to remove algae and dirt from the pool.

Once all of the water was out we then scrubbed and cleaned the bottom of the swimming pool and checked the pool for any defects like cracks or missing tiles.
Once we have scrubbed the pool’s edges and floor we jet the pool out completely.

We then flush and clean the inside of the pipes out and clean all filters and the pump.

We then refilled the pool and added algaecide and any other chemicals’ that were needed.

We recommend that your swimming pool should be cleaned out every 2-3 years

This was a recent job that we undertook in Eliot Vale Backheath SE3.

Our first port of call was to fix the leak that was occurring with the swimming pool. We examined all the pipes and carried out any necessary repairs and in this case it was a leaky pipe going into the swimming pool filteration system.

Once the leak had been repaired we then went on to do some swimming pool maintenance. This consisted of backwashing the filters to give them a thorough clean and replace any missing or broken swimming pool tiles. This was then followed by a jet wash to the tiles to ensure that they had been cleared of all algae and residue.

The final part of this job related to the patio area around the edge of the swimming pool.

We renewed the patio area around the swimming pool using secondhand reclaimed tiles. This added the finishing touch to a clean, fresh swimming pool ready for the summer months.

Swimming pool maintenance

You should maintain your pool every 3-4 days; this includes washing filters, back washing, checking chemical levels and cleaning out the pool.

If the pool is getting a lot of use every day you may want to check it every 2-3 days.

Also make sure the water level is topped up as if it drops below the skimmer it will run the pump dry.

In the summer the pump should be running between 6-8 hours during the day and 2-3 hours during the night.
