Responsive Insurance Works
At London and Kent Construction Ltd we care about our customers. We know that insurance works are much more than a practical nightmare: they can be very emotional, too. Our tradesmen and women work compassionately and efficiently, in a bid to make the customer’s home safe and to restore their home to its former glory, bringing a silver lining to an otherwise distressing time.
We are approved by insurance providers to undertake insurance home repairs, and depending on policy, we can be instructed to do insurance works by either the insurance company or the customer.
Whilst insurance providers will ultimately cover a customer’s costs for insurance home repairs (less any agreed excess), the initial cost of the work will be down to the customer until the insurance company signs off the works and reimburses the customer for the repair works, less excess. We can carry out everything from pumping out the water to drying the floors and walls and then renovating the damaged areas caused by the flood.
In the event of a fire at your home, London and Kent Construction Ltd will try to make a stressful situation as easy as possible for you. We can offer you secure storage facilities for your personal belongings, household appliances or materials with easy access. We can even arrange transport to and from the facilities which are extremely secure with 24-hour surveillance.
Please note that for all insurance work we do charge a fee for providing estimates. This will be deducted from the cost of works if we win the contract.

When it comes to insurance works to rectify damage caused by floods in basements and cellars, it is essential that they builders have the correct knowledge and equipment to reverse serious damage. Most properties with basements or cellars get flooded with heavy rainfall; sometimes, the water is contaminated water from sewers and blocked drains overflowing. Our emergency response team will be on hand to help you, when you need it. The first response team will pump any water out of your home, making it ready for our repairs teams to take over. Our tradesmen and women are approved to do insurance home repairs and, because we have access to such a broad range of skilled traders, we can get the job done as quickly and as smoothly as possible.
Case Study: Fire Damage
The damage to this particular house was caused by an unattended pot on the stove in the kitchen. As you can see, the damage itself spread throughout the house affecting the majority of the rooms and their contents.
To begin the restoration of this property, we first had to completely remove all contents from the house. The walls, ceilings and woodwork were all washed down with special cleaning agents to remove all residue of the smoke.
All damaged surfaces were then stripped back to their original state and finished to the customer’s requirements. We then restored the kitchen back to a habitable and safe environment. We also incorporated fitting a new boiler into the works.
Full gas and electric tests were undertaken and once all works were complete the customer was issued with gas and electric safety certificates.
If you have been the victim of a flood or fire disaster in your home, our insurance team will make it their priority to return your property to its pre-incident condition as quickly as we can, minimising secondary damage and with as little disruption to the customer as possible.
